Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer with 3-4 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems within our process skids for oil and gas projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of complex projects in the energy sector including the opportunity to participate in offshore commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering Design: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop detailed engineering designs for electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Procurement Support: Assist in the procurement process by reviewing vendor proposals, specifying technical requirements, and evaluating equipment and materials for electrical and instrumentation systems.
  3. Construction Oversight: Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing contractor submittals, resolving technical issues, and ensuring the quality and integrity of electrical and instrumentation installations.
  4. Commissioning and Testing: Coordinate and participate in commissioning activities to verify the functionality and performance of electrical and instrumentation systems, conducting testing, troubleshooting, and documentation as necessary.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, datasheets, and reports, to document design decisions, construction progress, and commissioning results.
  6. Safety and Compliance: Maintain a strong commitment to safety by adhering to company policies, procedures, and industry best practices, identifying, and mitigating potential hazards, and promoting a culture of safety awareness among project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software will be a plus point (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, SPI, SmartPlant Instrumentation) and MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, API, ISA, IECEX, ATEX) governing electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for oil and gas projects. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the execution of complex projects in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Structural Design and Analysis: Lead the design and analysis of structural systems, including steel and concrete structures, foundations, and offshore platforms, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  2. Engineering Calculations: Perform advanced structural engineering calculations and simulations using industry-standard software (SACS & STAADPRO) and methodologies to assess structural integrity, stability, and load-bearing capacity.

  3. Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, offering expertise in structural design principles, materials selection, and construction methodologies.

  4. Review and Approval: Review and approve structural engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports, to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to project requirements.

  5. Construction Support: Collaborate with construction teams to provide technical support during the construction phase, including resolving field engineering issues, interpreting design drawings, and conducting site inspections as needed.

  6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to structural engineering aspects of the project, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure proactive resolution to minimise project delays and cost overruns.

  7. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports, technical memos, and progress updates, to communicate engineering decisions, analyses, and recommendations to project stakeholders.

  8. Safety and Compliance: Uphold a strong commitment to safety by adhering to company policies, procedures, and industry best practices, promoting a culture of safety awareness, and actively participating in risk assessment and mitigation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on oil and gas projects, including onshore and offshore facilities.

  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SACS, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS) and familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., AISC, API, ACI, ASCE, IST).

  • Strong technical expertise in structural design principles, finite element analysis, dynamic analysis, and seismic design considerations focusing on structural weight optimisation.

  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors.
